This was never supposed to happen. After years in the agency business, the last thing I wanted to do was get back in to the agency business. Not that my days in the life were bad or anything… they were anything but. I was simply looking for something new.
And then, of course, I received an interesting LinkedIn message one day, which led to a phone call, which led to a meeting, and the rest is history. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I couldn’t do the work by myself, so I asked one of the craziest, most highly talented creative guys I know – Robert Rupp – to come along for the ride. He was totally in (I knew he would be; Rob’s never a guy to shy away from a spur-of-the-moment challenge). I was Pittsburgh bound.
We had an awesome client meeting, learning about a very interesting product that could potentially revolutionize an industry (seriously) if only people knew… how could we say no to that kind of opportunity? With a handshake and a smile following dinner, things were finally official; we had started our business; our agency was born.
I suppose it’s fitting that we decided to celebrate our newfound establishment in a brewery… that used to be a church (The Church Brew Works). In fact, I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes that night, “Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy.” We definitely had much to smile about.
